Predictive text bloopers
Taken from a Facebook group dedicated to the subject:
"
The local boozer in town is called the crown, so wen my 'mate dave' asked a particularly nice female if she wanted to meet up:
''fancy gettin food in the crown?''
it inevitably got written as:
''fancy gettin done in the brown?''

It's a Supreme come back!
A friend of a friend caught the eye of the 'star act' performing as Diana Ross at a recent hotel publicity event to celebrate the start of Wimbledon.... so got pulled on stage to act as one of the Supremes!!
So, camera phone in hand I record the event (for historical/cultural purposes of course!), and risk being assaulted the next time I see her by sharing it with the world!!
Give it up please, for the lady in red :)
If anyone can rotate this around 90 degrees I'd really appreciate it!

US man loses $54m trousers claim
I just had to record this one for posterity having put a smile on my face at the end of the first working day of the week!
A US judge has lost a $54m (£27m) claim against a South Korean dry-cleaning firm which lost a pair of his trousers.
By refusing to pay him $1,000 (£500) after losing his trousers, they failed to honour a pledge to provide "Satisfaction Guaranteed"
But a Washington judge dismissed the case... awarding the cleaners costs.
...the case, which has dragged on for two years and involved thousands of hours of legal investigative work
...case began in 2005 when Mr Pearson took several suits to his local dry-cleaner's in Washington to have some alterations made.
When he returned two days later, a pair of trousers was missing.
His multimillion dollar calculations for damages included the 1,400 hours he says he spent preparing the case.
According to the Washington Post, he also added the cost of hiring a car every weekend to enable him to drive to an alternative dry-cleaner's for the next 10 years.
From the BBC News website, some selected highlights of the story :

Seems it's a very popular piece as here's another 'amateur' playing it
Of course it can be purchased having been played by many 'professionals' too!

The future of Internet radio is in immediate danger. Royalty rates for webcasters have been drastically increased by a recent ruling and are due to go into effect on July 15 (retroactive to Jan 1, 2006!). To protest these rates and encourage the millions of net radio listeners to take action and contact their Congressional representatives, a national Day of Silence will be held June 26. Webcasters across the country will observe this day of silence in a number of ways, including dedicating entire programs to the campaign to save Internet Radio and broadcasting complete silence. For an updated list of the participants in this national day of silence, visit http://www.kurthanson.com/dos/. Webcasters who would like to participate in the day of silence, place contact the SaveNetRadio coalition at dayofsilence@savenetradio.org. Net radio listeners, please excuse the interruption of your normal programming and take action to ensure this silence is not permanent. Call your Congressional Representatives today.

Babbage to Tennyson - the first computer geek?
The English mathematician Charles Babbage, who conceived programmable computation, wrote to the young poet Tennyson. "In your otherwise beautiful poem," he said, "one verse reads,
Every moment one is born.
" ... If this were true," he went on, "the population of the world would be at a standstill. In truth, the rate of birth is slightly in excess of that of death. I would suggest [that the next edition of your poem should read]:"
Every moment 1 1/16 is born.
"Strictly speaking," Babbage added, "the actual figure is so long I cannot get it into a line, but I believe the figure 1 1/16 will be sufficiently accurate for poetry."
