Agent Ransack - File Searching, including content of file NOT just file name - much better than Window XP inbuilt version!
I haven't tried out Vista so I don't know how good its search is, and having Google desktop search eat up a few gigs of disk space is annoying.... but uisng XP Search tool is too frustrating to live without it! This is a happy medium ground for me, more releiable than XP but no need for huge index file of Google.
When searching for content inside of a file, XP has let me down numerous times - it only looks inside files it know the contnet type of by default. Hunting through hundreds of xml files to find the one with reference numbers of interest has been difficult at best, impossible at worst. This software worked out of the box without me looking at the instructions, which is always a good sign :)
